ShaRhaina has worked in public service for over ten years with a master’s degree in public administration from American University. Through her work, she has identified a passion for serving others and desired to do so more formally through counseling. As a result, Ms. Brown returned to school for an additional master’s degree in counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary with the intent to pursue a License in Professional Counseling upon degree completion. While in training, Ms. Brown is seeing clients under the direct supervision of Dr. Melinda Capaldi.
I approach the counseling process as a collaborative developmental partnership. Through counseling, we will endeavor to help you feel empowered and see improvements in your overall quality of health and personal goals. I value cultivating healthy relationships and see those connections as an essential foundation for overall well-being.
Together we will seek to improve your understanding, insight, and perception of yourself and your relationship with others within your community. We will explore what you want to explore and develop the value of your emotions and sense of self. Whatever challenges you’re facing, small or great, they matter! In my training, I've used person-centered, relational cultural theory, cognitive behavioral theory, and positive psychology. I'm currently training in trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy.
